I love chocolate fudge. It has long been a holiday favorite of mine, and my Mom makes it every year.
However.
(You see where this is going.)
If you’ve never made fudge, you should know this: you basically put multiple forms of sugar into a pot and boil it NOT TOO LONG and then let it harden in a cake pan until you can cut it into (giant) squares. Aside from accidentally boiling it too long, the biggest problem here is the sugar.
I’m not saying this recipe replaces chocolate fudge–but I am saying that it’s an incredibly delicious alternative if you happen to be craving chocolate fudge. It’s made with my real favorite thing: healthy ingredients, and no added sugar.
If you’re a texture person, you should know that the texture is nothing like real chocolate fudge, but for me that didn’t matter in the least. It’s that good. It’s also 900 times easier than actual fudge (no boiling required).
Your chocolate fudge alternative…
Peanut Butter Date “Chocolate Fudge”
2 tablespoons raw cacao
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup chopped dates
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 cup coconut oil
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
Put it all in a blender. Scrape it into a pan, pat it down, and let it harden in the refrigerator. Cut it in squares and eat half the pan a piece.
Enjoy!
