I make gratitude a habit, so that every day is a day of giving thanks, but ’tis the season for extra thankfulness. Writing this blog has got me thinking specifically about what wellness-related things I’m thankful for this year.
My top 8 of fitness gratitude:
My Health
I make a conscious effort to stay healthy. I believe in my body’s ability to stay healthy. When I feel something coming on, I’m grateful to live a life where I can take a time-out and allow my body to heal, which it tends to do very quickly. I’m grateful for that, too.
My Chiropractor
He’s my boyfriend, too, which makes me extra thankful! Getting adjusted has been a re-education for my body over these last almost-five years, and I am grateful.
The Marathon
I debated a long time about whether or not to do it, but I am so thankful I did. Both the training and the race taught me a lot about what I’m capable of. And you know what? It was really, really fun. The sense of accomplishment was pretty powerful, too.
Sunfood Superfoods
I discovered this company this year and am so delighted by it. They have great health/natural/organic products and great customer service. Each order you place earns Sunpoints, which you can trade in for a discount on subsequent orders. If you use my referral code Z4E2BWS3, you get 10% off your first order.
Phenomenal Food
I shop at the local farmer’s market, where produce is fresh and very inexpensive. I use raw cacao, natural peanut butter, cocoa butter, hemp seeds, chia seeds, moringa, and so many other wonderful foods I’m so grateful to have access to. I make things like tuna cakes with chipotle avocado sauce and zucchini noodles with a sauce made of roasted beets, carrots, onion, and garlic. There are so many healthy and delicious meals you can make in your own kitchen that are not difficult.
My New Gym
It’s got a full spinning schedule, boot camp schedule and group fitness schedule as well as a large weight room, decent cardio room (eight treadmills, not bad) and a large open space. I’m hooked on rumba and kickboxing, and all my instructors are fantastic. I go six days a week. The best part is that it’s just a block away! I’m so thankful for that.
My Yoga Practice
It evolved a lot this year when I started practicing first thing in the morning. With my new gym schedule, sometimes I do afternoon yoga now–but I’ve found I like that, too, because it breaks up my work day. I’m grateful for every minute on the mat.
Your Body Best
I started this blog almost a year ago as a labor of love. I so enjoy having a place to write down my fitness and wellness musing and share what I’ve learned through more than a decade as a fitness instructor and yoga teacher. I’m so grateful to those of you who take the time to read it. I hope you find it helpful. For those of you who have purchased something via one of my affiliate links, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that. For those of you who follow Your Body Best on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest, thank you! Every like and share helps spread the word and make this blog more successful.
